Bass Guitar For Sale

It all started with the Fender Precision Bass… yet another legendary creation by Leo Fender. A 1951 Fender Precision Bass is the cream of the Vintage Bass Guitars crop. The bass players playing upright basses, or “bass fiddles” in bands like Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys were having trouble being heard over the rest of the band. Bob Wills was one of Leo’s early “Beta Testers”, with everything from the Telecaster to various amplifiers.

Early on, many musicians thought the electric bass guitar would never catch on, but it did… in a big way. Even so, bass players were still just a part of the rhythm section. That is until Paul McCartney and his 1963 Hofner 500/1 hollow body bass came along. He single-handedly put Hofner on the map, and turned many kids into bass players. It’s likely Hofner wouldn’t still be in business today were it not for him. His melodic bass playing was actually crucial to the melody of the song. And he’s still playing that same 1963 Hofner 500/1 today, all over the world.

If you are a bass player, Vintage bass guitars can be the sweetest sound you will ever hear.
